(Rod Coddington, 5 September 2020) Peter McKinnon sits with a unfurled roll of wallpaper and a pair of cutting shears in hand. Behind him can be seen a number of tightly wrapped rolls cleverly contained between the legs of a stool turned upside down. A native of Scotland, McKinnon, or MacKinnon, became naturalized in March 1860. He is listed in census records and a business directory as a painter and house painter in Bridgeport, Conn. McKinnon died in 1871 at about age 37, and is buried in Mountain Grove Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bridgeport.
