View from Piazza Regina of Strada St Paulo, leading downhill towards the sea. The imposing building on left is the Auberge de Castille, formerly the official seat of the Knights of St John from the Langue of Castille, León and Portugal. The auberges were buildings offering hospitality to knights who did not have a residence of their own in Malta. The building was also used as headquarters by the French forces and, subsequently, by the British army. In 1972, it became the Office of the Prime Minister of Malta.
