Joseph L. Mankiewicz (director)
Film still from "Five Fingers" (directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, 00:23:50)
Private collection of Hal Rammel
Diello (James Mason), a valet to the British ambassador in Turkey, begins
photographing British war communications (under the code name ‘Cicero’)
and selling them to a German embassy attaché, Moyzisch (Oskar Karlweis).
Moyziisch develops Diello’s film before handing over large sums of British
currency. Diello is the central character in this post-war British spy
thriller, based upon a true story, and the darkroom scene is quite
realistic in detail.
