Photograph of a T'sou-ke woman from the south coast of Vancouver Island in a head and shoulders length portrait, facing the viewer. She wears a blanket, wrapped closely around her shoulders secured with a ?bone fastening.
This woman was a member of the T'sou-ke Nation who derived their name from the Northern Straits Salish word for a species of stickleback fish that live nearby. The town of Sooke in British Columbia on the south of Vancouver Island takes its name from these people.
