Nan Goldin's photographs are very personal: they tell her life story as well as that of the people with whom she has shared it. They document both the highs and the lows. Many of Nan Goldin's photographs are self-portraits, like this one, taken when she was recovering from years of drug addiction. A print of this image is in the collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
