Essay by Tadanori Yokoo. Illustrated with reproductions of Moriyama's photographs. 4to, printed white boards, very top edge lightly foxed; printed dust jacket; with the obi and original clear acetate outer wrapper. Parr/Badger I 300. first edition.

Published just a few months after Sashin yo Sayonara, this book is, as the title implies, a work that examines the theme of photographer as voyeur. Here, Moriyama often seems to be alone looking in, or as Yokoo famously wrote: "He takes hs pictures from the point of view of a Peeping Tom or a rapist...Eyes that see from the windows of a moving car or from the shadows are those of a criminal. His pictures are like someone who talks without lookng people in the eye."
