Photograph of a terracota bust of Henry V (WC Sculpture 196). Of the eleven terracotta busts that Rysbrack completed for Queen Caroline’s library at St James’s Palace only three survive: Edward the Black Prince (RCIN37067), Edward VI (RCIN53346) and Queen Elizabeth I (RCIN45101). The others were destroyed, and one partially damaged (Elizabeth of York, RCIN 31667), in 1906 when the shelf on which they stood collapsed. The busts had been moved to the Orangery Photographic Studio at Windsor Castle in 1825 when Queen Caroline’s library at St James’s Palace in London was demolished.
On page 181 of Inventory of Statuary and Busts, at Windsor Castle begun in 1874 and continuing until the 20th century (RCIN 1101202); described as 'Edward the Third'.
