| Unidentified photographer/creator Portraits of two gentlemen n.d. Ambrotypes, 1/4 plate Private collection of Steven Evans LL/13096 This is an intriguing double portrait with the man in the left wearing a miner's tunic and the man in more formal office attire on the right. Steven Evans has proposed the following plausible hypthothesis:
"My speculation is he was a succesful miner returning home where he had his photo taken, went to town, got his hair cut and his beard chopped off, bought a new suit of fancy duds, and went back to have another photo taken. Before and
after."
The pair are housed in a thermoplastic case.
