This photograph can be seen in Charles Thurston Thompson's view of the 1858 Exhibition of the Photographic Society of London and the Société franþaise de photographie at the South Kensington Museum is the earliest known photograph of a photographic exhibition. It shows a densely-packed gallery of photographs displayed in what was then called the Refreshment upper room.
