Photograph of the 'Myrtle' courtyard in the Alhambra, Granada. In the background, slim pillars support a series of horseshoe arches above which is a covered arcade featuring Moorish arches with fine, carved detailing. A series of smaller windows are a feature of the upper level. A balcony at the top of the building overlooks the courtyard pond. On the right, a man leans against a pillar.
Alberca Court is situated in the Moorish Palace of Alhambra in Granada, southern Spain. The word Alberca derives from the Arabic word meaning 'pond' and, therefore, refers to the large pond in the centre of the court, filled with goldfish and surrounded by myrtles.
