Williams Nature Mort 1855 (ca) Daguerreotype, stereo Victoria and Albert Museum The Royal Photographic Society Collection at the V&A, acquired with the generous assistance of the Heritage Lottery Fund and Art Fund, Museum number: RPS.607-2017 LL/84985 Stereoscopic daguerreotype of a still life vanitas display, with a skull, hourglass drawing compass, and a pair of spectacles resting on an open book. The daguerreotype plates are in a black mount with two rectangular arched windows. This is glazed in a passe-partout frame. A Carpenter and Westley label is on the verso of the frame.
