In the film O Megalexandros [Alexander the Great] (dir: Theodoros Aggelopoulos, 1980) is partly based on the Dilessi Murders of 1870 and the styling of the bandit chief has similarities with Greek bandit Thomas Gantaras who was active in the early 1920s. At around 2:05:40 in the film characters pose in front of a painted background for their photograph.
