Aubrey's pen signature and decorative embossed stamp is on the bottom margin. From 1864 Aubry began making studies of flowers and plants, sometimes from plaster casts, sometimes from life. These were to provide examples from nature for art students. This is a complex study of vines growing around plaster decorative reliefs on the side of a building.
