Later he worked for Time Life, Paris Match and Stern. In 1956 he met Henri Cartier-Bresson and Marc Riboud and became a member of Magnum. Ara Güler has received many important prizes. In 1961 Photography Annual named him among the seven best photographers of the world. In 1962 he was nominated 'Master of the Leica' and in 1968 MOMA named him one of the ten masters of color photography.
