Signed in pen on the print. In the late 1860's Henry Peach Robinson suffered a disability, and moved from London to Tunbridge Wells. There he formed a partnership with Nelson K. Cherrill. Cherrill was already a master of "double printing" and noted for his landscapes with clouds. This partnership continued until 1876, when Cherrill moved to Australia and then New Zealand.
