Landscape view of Naples from Santa Lucia: seafront in foreground with roofed stalls on the left; a wharf area with steps leading down to the water. Possibly a seated figure in the lower central area. Beyond this, a road fronting the sea wall, possibly another figure sitting on the wall. The sea is on the right, a sea wall to the left in front of a large four-storey building (Hotel du Rome) with others behind. A groyne or causeway stretches out to the right, an arch on the land end with a tower behind.
