This is Ruth's signature model from about 1958-64, best known for the IN THE BOX images. Joyce could be called a very special gift. Other than for prints, she worked without pay and was glad to do it. She considered herself an amateur and worked with Ruth with her husband's blessing. This small, light-toned print was probably a test. Ruth never followed through and did anymore with the image that I know of and it is unsigned but really is a very whole photograph of Joyce Pieper outside the box.
