The triumphal entry of Franco's troops in the territories still holding out put an end to the Civil War. Ceremonies to honour the victims on the national side were held immediately. Town halls authorized the victims to be moved, and they were commemorated in religious ceremonies and buried in cemeteries, whilst monuments in memory of the fallen were erected in town squares.
Capella ardent establerta a l'església de Sant Pere de Galligants, que acollí el centenar de fèretres de les víctimes de la Guerra Civil morts, majoritàriament, pels Comitès Antifeixistes de Salt i Orriols. Els cossos reberen una missa d'homenatge a la Catedral, en un acte organitzat per la Hermandad de Cautivos de España, i el mateix dia a la tarda foren traslladats al cementiri de la ciutat. En la notícia apareguda al diari El Pirineo el 28/4/1939, figura la llista amb el nom de les víctimes encapçala pel titular: A la memoria de los Mártires, por Dios y por España, sacrificados por la tiranía roja.
