Photograph of a view across a rock face with a large chasm to the right of the centre of the photograph. Trees populate the top of the rock and the foreground. Highlights from the surface of water can be seen to the right of the centre of the photograph.
At over 300 metres in height and 8 km's long, the chasm is a natural feature created by the erosion of volcanic rock by the flow of melted glacial water. The rock, situated in the Chasm Provincial Park in British Columbia, is also known as the 'painted chasm' due to the variety of colours that can be seen in the stone.
