(Ralph Reiley, 25 October 2020) Keystone view from the 1932 set of 400, number W261,German POW's. Hard to date the photo. The mix of 1910 and 1915 uniforms is one indicator that the photos is 1915. Lack of the German steel helmet indicates before battle of Verdun, Feb. 1916. Captions says it is from Belleau Wood, a 1918 battle fought by the American army. Keystone captions were intended to interest the American market, and not so much for historic accuracy. There is a soldier in the back with a helmet on, a French Adrian helmet, introduced in the spring of 1915.
