They are standing facing each other, one with his back partly to the camera. They are wearing loose robes and turbans. Both are carrying swords and one has a long stick and a small shield attached to his back. There is a building with a small window behind.
This is one of a series of photographs from a published volume documenting the tour the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, made of India in 1875-76. Included in the album are a group of photographs of local people.
