(Sergey Maximishin, 1 July 2021) In 1925, in Leningrad, the great Russian poet Sergei Yesenin was found hanged in a hotel room. The debate about whether it was a suicide or whether the poet was killed by the Chekists continues to this day. These two photographs were taken by Moses Nappelbaum a few hours after the poet's death.
