General view of the Shah Najaf, tomb of Ghazi-ud-Din Haidar at Lucknow photographed by Reymond Hervey De Montmorency in 1867. The interior of the tomb of Ghazi-ud-Din-Haidar Khan, Nawab of Avadh (1814-27) is decorated with crystal chandeliers and portraits, and contains the silver tomb of the Nawab flanked by two of his wives. The building is used to store tazia, elaborate models of the Kerbala in Iraq made of wood, bamboo and silver paper. These are carried through the streets at Muharram, the festival which commemorates the martyrdom of Mohammed's grandson, Iman Hussain.
