Notes: printed in Milan by Artaria. Falkeisen was born 1804, in Basel and died 15 February 1883, in Basel. After studying in Paris, Falkeisen went to Milan, where he worked under Migliara and Louis Cherbuin until 1838. Around 1843, he set himself up as a businessman in Asia Minor, returning to Switzerland some years later to take up the post of curator at the museum in Basel.
