Landscape view of Venice waterfront looking from the Grand Canal near the Dogana del Mare. The plate shows the campanile of San Marco on the left with buildings and gardens in the foreground, fronted by a balustrade on the edge of the Gran Canal, and mooring-posts. The Dome of the Basilica di S,Marco is to the right, the Zecca or Mint next, the Bibiliotecha or Library, the Column of S.Theodore and that of the Lion, the Palazzo Ducalem the Ponte di Paglia and the Prisons on the extreme right.
