Unidentified photographer
Portrait of three man

Daguerreotype, 1/6 plate
National Gallery of Canada, The Origins of Photography: The Matthew R. Isenburg and Enhanced Isenburg Collections 1840-1880

Three men wearing heavily stained work aprons. Upon closer examination, their clothes are well tailored and the fellow in the center seems to have smooth hands that do not quite match his apron. Are these tradesmen or craftsmen dressed in their "Sunday best" with their work aprons added as a statement, or did they borrow aprons for the group portrait? (Matt Isenburg)
