A classic image, taken long after the great buffalo herds had been decimated and only small groups remained in isolated areas. Two hunters are seen beginning to peel away the hide of a large bull; two additional fallen bison are seen in the distance, along with one of the hunter's horses, a rifle in its scabbard hanging from the saddle.
