In the autobiography of Victor Keppler Man + Camera (1970), it mentions that Victor and his wife Jo left New York State into Canada on a road trip in late October 1929. Somewhere between Quebec City and Montreal they heard of the NY stock market crash. I would guess the photo was taken during this trip, because of the title of the photograph has a double meaning referring to year & temperature QUEBEC (29 BELOW!) on reverse, and MT. TREMBLANT, QUEBEC (29 degrees BELOW) on front.
