Neil Folberg (1950, 7 April - ) was born - US, CA, San Francisco. Wonderful images of synagogues from around the world in his 1995 book ‘And I Shall Dwell Among Them‘. He is also a photographer who mixes the landscapes of the night with the stars to create images that appear to be theatrical backdrops More... 
  
Arthur Allen Lewis (1873, 7 April - 1957, 20 March) was born - US, AL, Mobile. The Allen Lewis Papers are kept at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, USA. 
  
George Pierron (1818, 7 April - 1896, 1 May) was born - France.  
  
George Dureau (1930, 28 December - 2014, 7 April) died - US, LA, Kenner. Painter and photographer. 
  
Eliot Elisofon (1911, 17 April - 1973, 7 April) died - US, NY, New York. American photographer, film producer and technical adviser on colour for Hollywood films in the 1950s and 60s. He was a specialist in African art and a founder-member of the Museum of African Art in Washington D.C. 
  
Ruth Gilbert (1909, 10 December - 2007, 7 April) died - US, CA, Monterey. Took up the camera when she was 62 with her work being recognised by being published in the influential magazine Zoom. In her series "Sight Unseen" she photographed the butchers of the Rue de Seine in Paris.
