Lieutenant-General Albert Henry Bamfield (1830, 6 March - 1908, 14 Apr) was born - India, Lucknow.  
  
Herman Leonard (1923, 6 March - 2010, 14 August) was born - US, PA, Allentown. One of the greatest photographers of Jazz musicians from the late 1940's to the 1960s. 
  
Joel Meyerowitz (1938, 6 March - ) was born - US, NY, New York. American landscape photographer - he took up photography in 1962 and was one of the first to use color photography as an artistic medium. 
  
Marshall Sigford (1910, 6 March - 2002, 15 August) was born - US, MN, Stark.  
  
Captain Charles Philip Yorke Triscott (1824, 6 March - 1880, 13 March) was born.

Keld Helmer-Petersen (1920, 23 August - 2013, 6 March) died. Though often over-looked he made a historical breakthrough in photography in 1947 when he self-published the book "122 Colour Photographs". J.E. Mayall (1813, 17 September - 1901, 6 March) died. British photographer and daguerreotypist. Particularly noted for 1851 photographs of the Crystal Palace Exhibition in London.
