Lala Deen Dayal (1844 - 1905, 5 July) died - India, Bombay (Mumbai). One of the first notable Indian photographers who did studies of the monuments of India as well as formal portraits. Joseph Nicéphore Niépce (1765, 7 March - 1833, 5 July) died. French inventor and photographer. Niépce experimented with fixing an image from 1813-1822, when he successfully produced an image on tin. Inventor of the heliographic process (1824) which was not a commercial success. He took the first known More... 
  
Marie Šechtlová (1928, 25 March - 2008, 5 July) died - Prague, Czech Repulbic. Czech photographer with a studio in Tábor. She married photographer Josef Šechtl of the "Šechtl & Voseček" studio in Tábor . The studio was founded in 1876 and the work of Marie Šechtlová preserves a record of the communist period.
