24 November 1963 Jack Ruby assassinates Lee Harvey Oswald - the supposed killer of President John F. Kennedy who had died two days earlier. Robert Jackson (Dallas Times-Herald) photographs the exact moment of the shooting and is awarded the 1964 Pulitzer Prize. 
 
  
G.G. Granger (1903, 24 November - 1946, 17 June) was born - US, MI, Sunfield.  
  
Albert Augustus Isaacs (1826, 24 January - 1903, 15 November) was born - Jamaica, Berry Hill (A coffee plantation). In the 1850s he travelled to the Holy Land. His book A Pictorial Tour in the Holy Land (1863) included illustrations based on his photographs. 
  
Mike Mandel (1950, 24 November - ) was born - US, CA, Los Angeles. American contemporary photographeer who in the 1970s self-published several key works including "Seven Never Before Published Portraits of Edward Weston" (1974) and "Baseball-Photographer Trading Cards" (1975). 
  
T.K. Shindo (1890, 24 November - 1974) was born - Japan.  
  
Arthur Tress (1940, 24 November - ) was born - US, NY, Brooklyn. American experimental photographer who uses his anthropological background to explore dream-like and fantasy aspects of the human psyche. He has worked in both black and white and color. 
  
George Allen (1891, 12 January - 1940, 24 November) died. Took aerial photographs of Southern England between 1933 and 1939 mostly of archaeological sites not not entirely. The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford has a collection of around 2000 of his aerial photographs. 
  
Alphonse Bernoud (1820, 4 February - 1889, 24 November) died - France, Lyon.  
  
John Benjamin Dancer (1812, 8 October - 1887, 24 November) died. Optician, photographer and inventor. He took Daguerreotypes with the aid of microscope and one was of the founders of photographic microscopy. Alice Seeley Harris (1870, 24 May - 1970, 24 November) died - England, Guildford.  
  
Juan Laurent (1816, 23 July - 1886, 24 November) died. Born in France in 1816 as Jean Laurant and in 1843 he became a resident of Madrid in Spain taking the name Juan. László Moholy-Nagy (1895, 20 July - 1946, 24 November) died - US, IL, Chicago. Multi-talented artist and theoretician. 
  
Karl Pietzner (1853, 9 April - 1927, 24 November) died.  
  
Jack Welpott (1923, 27 April - 2007, 24 November) died - US, CA, Greenbrae. American photographer.
