Georges Mèliès (1861, 8 December - 1938, 21 January) died - France, Paris. Experimental French filmmaker. His 1902 film ”Le Voyage dans la Lune” (A Trip the Moon) is widely regarded as a masterpiece of silent film. IThe film "Hugo" (2011) is a fictionalized account of parts of his life.
