The 5th July 1853 fire destroyed the granaries and elevators of Oswego Mills, New York, USA was documented by George N. Barnard.
A contemporary account gives a brief description:
"The destructive fire which occured here on the 5th of July, 1853, destroyed most of the mills and elevators on the east side of the river. Through indomitable energy, however, they have all been rebuilt, upon a larger and more extensive scale, with all the modern improvements."[1]
