Firstly many thanks for participating....

PLEASE NOTE: As of January 2012 I am not accepting submissions as I am concentrating on other areas of the website. If you are already on Luminous-Lint just send an email to say you can supply further information if requested. Thanks for your understanding.

On the other hand if I have sent you a link to this page it is because I want to include you on this website.

The intention is to provide a clear and accurate overview of your work to date and then we'll update it in the future. To do this we need to start with a solid foundation so here is what we need. All texts can be in an MS-Word, RTF or txt file - and it is easier if you keep the formatting simple.

Your background

  1. Exact date and place of birth
  2. Gender
  3. Full name (maiden name if appropriate)
  4. Which countries have you worked in?
  5. Website
  6. Contact details

Your artistic statement

This should relate to your overall body of work but if you have a statement about a particular exhibition or portfolio I'd be delighted to receive it as well.

Resume

Put most recent events at the top of each section and then go back through your life. For example:

2002 "The Dynamo Show", Any gallery, Any town, Any country
2001 "Trees", Any gallery, Any town, Any country
  1. Education
  2. Solo shows
  3. Group shows
  4. Portfolios
  5. Publications
  6. Representation

Your photographs and other images

Think about the www.luminous-lint.com website as a record for posterity about what you have done or are doing. I normally recommend including 5 representative images from each of a number of significant series. For each image I need full caption details:
  1. Name
  2. Date
  3. Name of series (if appropriate)
  4. Photograph type
  5. Size
  6. Anecdote (if there is anything you would like to add about the image)
The images can be sent as jpgs at a maximum length on the height or width axis of 1000 pixels at 200dpi. The higher quality I receive the higher the quality on the website but please note that some artifacts may occur due to compression. For screen display images are normally shown at a maximum of 500 pixels on an axis at around 72 dpi.

Your supplementary material

If you have scans of posters for your exhibitions, publicity cards, studio stamps, studio labels or a self portrait I would also be grateful. Please provide dates where appropriate.

Sending the material through

To make sure you remember everything I'd recommend printing this page out and crossing out each of the items as you create them. Once you have prepared the material use Winzip or Stuffit to package it all up and send it through to alan@luminous-lint.com with "SUBMISSION: your name" in the email subject line so I can spot it easily. You might need to split the content into a couple of emails if they are quite large.

and finally...

You retain the copyright over your submissions but allow your material to be used within the Luminous-Lint project.

As this website expands it will be the place where collectors, gallery owners and curators can see your work and obtain your information. Completeness and accuracy is obviously important.

Thanks for participating in the Luminous-Lint project it helps to create a great resource for all of us.

With best wishes and I look forward to your email, Alan
