Book Description

Artist Book. The 30th title in the now-legendary "One Picture Book" Series by Nazraeli Press, one of the most superb ongoing projects of contemporary art photography. Limited Edition of 500 numbered and signed copies. Accompanied by one tipped-in, original print by the artist/photographer (hence the Series' name). An elegant production by Chris Pichler: Small-size volume format. Titles on cover and spine, as issued. Photographs by Stu Levy. Presents one of the most arrestingly beautiful and remarkable collections in the Series ever, as Nazraeli keeps topping itself. "The title of Stu Levy¿s One Picture Book is also an anagram of the book¿s subject, Carl Chiarenza. Levy¿s 'Grid Portraits', in which multiple photographs of his subject, taken from various perspectives and distances, are combined to create one portrait have been exhibited widely and are featured in many important collections throughout the United States. Folds out map-like from its hardbound case" (Publisher's blurb). Truly stunning. This book is signed in pen on the back Limitation Page, and is numbered and signed in black fountain pen by the photographer. It comes with a silver-gelatin print that is delicately pasted over its duotone duplicate. The print can be lifted and removed, if so desired, without ruining the grid portrait or itself. 1 oversize duotone plate, 1 original print. © 2005, ModernRare.com
